People often flash a wary grin when I admit that I'm into angels. The fact that I'm a pastor, and that it was my research into several important Bible passages that got me hooked, only seems to help a little. But I'm convinced that now, more than any other time in Western history, people are in desperate need for truthful information about angels, demons, and all of the implications that arise from the reality of the spiritual realm.
Back in my days of graduate school and seminary training, angels and fallen angels were hardly mentioned. Professors seemed embarrassed about the subject. I suspect many of my instructors weren't even sure if they believed angels were real. I don't recall a single publication in our seminary bookstore that included the word "Angel" in the title.
Much has changed in recent years. Bookstore shelves everywhere now sag under the weight countless new and reissued works discussing the history of angels, angels in art, and how to understand "spirits" in the modern world.
Angels appear in all of the world's great religions, and accounts of their movement between our world and the invisible realm beyond are found throughout all of recorded history.
The word angel means “messenger.” Angels are spiritual servants of God who are empowered to bring hope, judgement or joy.
A century ago, Victorians of faith found inspiration in angels, and they celebrated angels in music, literature and art. Fallen angels, who sometimes deceptively appear as "angels of light," also move among us, and they, too, are found in the art of the past. READ MORE -- Click Here
